Ospital, napupuno na sa dami ng COVID cases… Davao City, MECQ hanggang June 20

Ilalagay ang Davao City sa modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) o mas mahigpit na quarantine classifications simula bukas, June 5 hanggang 20, dahil sa biglaang pagtaas ng COVID-19 cases.

Ayon sa naunang anunsiyo ng City Government of Davao sa kanilang Facebook page, “The City Government of Davao has requested the IATF-RTF to declare a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from June 5 to 30, 2021 to allow a circuit breaker in the surge of patients inside hospitals.”

Base naman kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, hanggang June 20 lamang ipatutupad ang MECQ sa Davao City, samantalang ang General Santos City nama’y ilalagay sa general community quarantine (GCQ) o mas maluwag na quarantine classifications hanggang sa katapusan ng Hunyo.

Sa ngayon ay malapit nang maging full capacity ang Southern Philippines Medical Center na pinakamalaking ospital sa Davao, dahil sa biglaang pagdami ng isinusugod na COVID-19 patients.

Base pa sa huling datos ng Department of Health (DOH), ang Mindanao ay nakapagtala ng 11,391 active cases ng COVID-19.

“All public transportation shall be permitted to operate. We need to help our frontliners by making sure that we stay home except for work or business,” dagdag naman ng City Government of Davao sa kanilang Facebook post.

46 empleyado, nagka-COVID-19, Call Center sa Davao, ini-lockdown

Isinailalim sa lockdown ang isang call center office sa Davao City noong Biyernes matapos magpositibo sa COVID-19 ang 46 empleyado nito.

Ayon kay Dr. Michelle Schlosser ng COVID-19 Task Force, dumami ang bagong kaso ng COVID-19 sa naturang call center office sa Ecoland, Davao City.

Saad pa niya, “Davao City monitors active cases through our contact tracers. The company failed to provide and declare an honest and comprehensive close contact line list to the District Health Officer Contact Tracer where the office is located.”

Ang District Health Officer, Sanitation Team, Philippine National Police, at barangay council ang naghain ng lockdown notification sa naturang kumpanya sa loob ng 14 araw.

Nagpaalala rin ang awtoridad sa mga pampribado at pampublikong opisina na sumunod sa mga ipinatutupad na health protocols upang maiwasan ang pagdami ng kaso ng COVID-19.

Nagsasagawa na rin ng contact tracing sa mga nakasalamuha ng mga empleyado ng naturang kumpanya at isinailalim na rin sa isolation ang mga ito.

Samantala, noong Biyernes ay naiulat ang 173 karagdagang kaso ng COVID-19 sa Davao City at sa kabuuang bilang ay nakapagtala ng 16,561 total cases sa naturang lugar kung saan 1,381 ang aktibong kaso.

Davao City bilang ‘Chocolate Capital’ ng ‘Pinas, aprub na kay P-Du30

Idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Davao City bilang ‘Chocolate Capital’ ng Pilipinas at ang kabuuan ng Davao Region bilang ‘Cacao Capital’ ng bansa ngayong Huwebes.

Sa Republic Act 11547 na nilagdaan ni P-Duterte, nakasaad na kinikilala ng batas ang halaga ng cacao dahil sa pagpapataas nito ng export earnings ng bansa.

Nakasaad din sa naturang batas na “(Cacao) put the name of the country in the map for producing the finest chocolate beans.

“(Cacao) provided livelihood to many small farmers in the countryside.

"In recognition of its status as the country’s biggest producer of cacao and its vital contribution in making the Philippines world renowned and sought after by chocolate makers from the US, Japan, and Europe, the City of Davao is hereby declared as the Chocolate Capital of the Philippines and the entire Region XI (Davao Region) as the Cacao Capital of the Philippines."

Samantala, noong 2019, nakapag-produce ang Davao ng mahigit 2,289.74 metric tons ng cacao, ayon sa agriculture department nu’ng Setyembre.
