Nasa tinatayang 18 home antigen test kits para sa COVID-19 ang inaprubahan ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA), base ito sa data mula sa regulatory body.

Ayon sa FDA data nitong Mayo 10, ang mga self-administered test kits ay mayroong 83 percent hanggang 97.5 percent sensitivity at 99.5 percent hanggang 100 percent specificity.

“Marami pa po tayong hinihintay sa RITM (Research Institute for Tropical Medicine),” pahayag ni FDA officer-in-charge Oscar Gutierrez sa isang televised briefing ngayong Biyernes.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni Gutierrez na walang COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer na nag-aplay sa ngayon para sa booster shots sa mga kabataan.

“Kung sakali mang may mag-a-apply, sa loob po ng 3 linggo susubukan po nating ma-evaluate ito agad,” saad ni Gutierrez. “Kakayanin po ‘yan kasi nagtutulungan po kami dito lahat kasama ang ating vaccine experts,” sabi pa ng opisyal.

QC govt magsasagawa ng COVID-antigen testing sa 1,100 Bar examinees, staff at volunteers

Magsasagawa ng COVID-19 rapid antigen test ang Quezon City Government sa 1,100 Bar examinees, staff at volunteers upang makasiguro na hindi magiging 'superspreader' event ang examinations na gaganapin sa Pebrero 4 at 6, ayon kay Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Isasagawa ang swab tests ngayong araw, February 2, para sa 756 bar examinees at sa February 3 naman ang 350 personnel at volunteers sa University of the Philippines (UP) College of Human Kinetics Gymnasium.

“We have been closely coordinating with the Supreme Court (SC) as well as administrators from the University of the Philippines since the University has been selected as one of the testing sites. We share the same goal with them and that is to ensure the safety of the examinees and the success of the examinations on February 4 and 6,” ani Belmonte.

Ayon sa city government, ipo-provide ng SC ang test kits habang ang QC Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (QCESU) naman ang magsasagawa ng testing.

Nasa 20 health personnel ng QCESU ang makikibahagi sa testing habang ang ibang city departments naman ay mag-a-assist sa tests at examinations.

Ang mga magpopositibo ay ia-assess at ire-refer na mag-home quaratine o ita-transfer sa HOPE Community Care facilities ng lungsod.

Ang QC Task Force for Transport and Traffic Management (QCTFTTM) naman ang magme-maintain ng magandang daloy ng trapiko sa vicinity ng UP.

“Rest assured that we will provide all the support needed, and the issues concerning health or safety will be the least of your worries. We wish all the examinees the best of luck,” pahayag pa ni Belmonte.

COVID-19 testing, ititigil dahil sa P762.8-M utang ng PhilHealth

Nagbabala si Phil. Red Cross Chairman at Sen. Richard Gordon na “anytime” ay maaaring itigil ang pagsasagawa ng COVID-19 testing ng PRC dahil sa malaking utang sa kanila ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na umabot sa P762.8 million.

Pahayag ni Gordon, "We will stop anytime because masyadong kampante ang PhilHealth. Akala nila, we are government. We are not government.”

Ayon din kay Gordon, umorder ang PRC ng 480,000 test kits na nagkakahalaga ng $5 million at kailangan ding bayaran ang mga medical technologists.

Aniya, "Hindi naman kami puwedeng malugi. Ano, kami [ang] magpapakamatay dahil sa negligence at mal-administration ng PhilHealth? Hindi naman tama iyon.”

Samantala, hindi tinanggap ni Gordon ang paliwanag ng PhilHealth na ang pagre-review ng mga dokumento ang dahilan umano ng mabagal na pagbabayad nito sa PRC.

Saad ni Gordon, "They are just looking for excuses. How can they say that? Lahat ng tine-test namin, galing sa kanila. Lahat ng isinulat doon, galing sa kanila.”
