P150-M ilegal na PPEs, face masks at shields, nasabat sa Binondo, Manila

Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang tinatayang aabot sa halagang P150 million unregistered personal protective equipment (PPE) kabilang na ang mga face masks at shields sa isang warehouse sa Binondo, Manila noong May 5.

Sa pakikipagtulungan ng BOC sa Manila International Container Port’s (MICP) Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) at Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), hindi nakalusot ang mga naturang produkto.

Kaakibat ng Letter of Authority (LOA) na nilagdaan ni BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, nag-inspeksiyon ang awtoridad sa storage facility at natagpuan ang mga hindi rehistradong Aidelai masks at Heng De face shields, cosmetic/beauty products, luxury clothing, mga laruan at cellphone cases.

Saad pa ng BOC, “Further inventory and investigation are underway to ascertain the value and for the possible filing of charges for violation of Section 1400 of RA 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization Act (CMTA).

“The Bureau reiterates the importance of ensuring the authenticity of items especially for items such as face masks and other PPE.”

P20.37 M ipinuslit na yosi, nasabat ng BOC

Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Manila (POM) noong May 7 ang 40-footer container ng misdeclared cigarettes na tinatayang aabot sa halagang P20.37 million.

Ayon sa BOC noong Sabado, idineklarang paper products ang laman ng naturang container na dumating sa Port of Manila noong May 2 na nagmula sa China, “consigned to Micastar Consumer Goods Trading.” Saad ng BOC, “The Office of the District Collector placed the shipment on hold and for examination on suspicion that the subject shipment contained misdeclared and/or prohibited items.”

“Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service further substantiated the information, thus resulting in the issuance of an Alert Order on May 4, 2021, and the conduct of a 100% physical examination on May 6, 2021.” Sa examination, natagpuan ng BOC ang P20.37 million halaga ng misdeclared Fortune brand cigarettes, taliwas sa idineklarang laman ng naturang shipment.

Naglabas naman ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention si District Collector Michael Angelo Vargas laban sa shipment dahil sa paglabag sa Section 1400 “‘Misdeclaration, Misclassification, and Undervaluation in Goods Declaration’ in relation to Section 1113 ‘Property Subject Seizure and Forfeiture’ of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).”

P3-M ecstasy at marijuana, nasabat sa Pasay

Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) ang tinatayang aabot sa P3 milyong halaga ng ecstasy at kush marijuana ngayong Martes sa ilang warehouses sa Pasay City.

Sa tulong ng BOC Customs Anti-illegal Drugs Task Force (CAIDTF), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), at NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), nasabat ang 1,681 tablets ng ecstasy na tinatayang nagkakahalagang P2,857,700 na ayon sa awtoridad, “Found concealed inside a microwave oven.”

Aabot naman sa halagang P159,600 ang nasabat na 133 grams ng kush marijuana na natagpuan sa loob ng isang metal toy box.

Ayon pa sa BOC, “In sum, the seized ecstasy and marijuana have an aggregate value of P3,017,300.”

Sa tala ng Customs, napag-alaman na mula sa Netherlands ang ecstasy at ang recipient ay taga-Quezon City, habang ang kush marijuana naman ay mula sa USA na ang recipient ay naka-address sa Pasay City.

Nai-turn-over na sa PDEA ang mga naturang parcels upang makapagsagawa ng case profiling at posible rin umanong sampahan ng kasong paglabag sa Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act 9165) in relation to Section 119 (restricted importation) at Section 1401 (unlawful importation) ng Republic Act 10863 o ang Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) ang mga sangkot sa insidente.
