Red Tide Alert sa 3 lugar — BFAR

Tatlong lugar mula sa Visayas at Mindanao ang lumabas na positibo sa paralytic shellfish poison o toxic red tide na lumagpas sa itinakdang regulatory limit, ayon sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ngayong Sabado.

Sa latest bulletin ng BFAR, ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish at alamang (krill) ay hindi ligtas na kainin mula sa mga sumusunod na lugar:

• Coastal waters ng Dauis, at Tagbilaran City sa Bohol

• Lianga Bay sa Surigao del Sur

• Dumanquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur

Gayunman, sinabi ng BFAR, ang mga isda, pusit, hipon at crab o alimango mula sa mga naturang lugar ay ligtas namang kainin, subalit ayon sa ahensiya, “Provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking.”

Nakasaad din sa bulletin ang listahan naman ng mga lugar na walang itinuturing na toxic red tide, kabilang dito ang coastal waters ng Milagros sa Masbate, Carigara Bay sa Leyte, at Murcielagos Bay sa Zamboanga del Norte.

20 lugar, positibo sa red tide — BFAR

Kinumpirma ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ngayong Miyerkules na 20 lugar sa bansa ang positibong nakitaan ng paralytic shellfish poison o toxic red tide at lumagpas ito sa tinatawag na regulatory limit.

Sa isang advisory ng BFAR, lahat ng klase ng shellfish at acetes o alamang ay hindi ligtas na kainin mula sa mga sumusunod na lugar:

• Baybayin ng Zumarraga sa Western Samar

• Baybayin ng Daram Island sa Western Samar

• Baybayin ng Biliran Islands

• Baybayin ng Calubian sa Leyte

• Baybayin ng Leyte, Leyte

• Puerto Princesa Bay, Puerto Princesa City sa Palawan

• Ormoc Bay sa Leyte

• Baybayin ng Daiuis at Tagibilaran City sa Bohol

• Tambobo Bay, Siaton sa Negros Oriental

• Murcielagos Bay sa Zamboanga del Norte

• Balite Bay sa Davao Oriental

• Bislig Bay sa Surigao del Sur

• Baybayin ng Hinatuan sa Surigao del Sur

• Lianga Bay sa Surigao del Sur

• San Pedro Bay sa Western Samar

• Cancabato Bay sa Tacloban City sa Leyte

• Carigara Bay sa Leyte

• Cambatutay Bay sa Western Samar

• Maqueda at Villareal Bays sa Western Samar

• Irong-irong Bay sa Western Samar “Fish, squids, shrimps, and crabs are safe for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking,” ayon sa BFAR.

Lahat ng shellfish at alamang, may red tide — BFAR

Nagpositibo sa paralytic shellfish poison (PSP) o toxic red tide ang ilang (18) lugar sa bansa, ayon sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Sa latest shellfish bulletin base sa laboratory results ng BFAR, ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish at acetes o alamang mula sa Puerto Princesa Bay, Puerto Princesa City sa Palawan; coastal waters ng Dauis at Tagbilaran City sa Bohol; Tambobo Bay, Siaton sa Negros Oriental; coastal waters ng Calubian sa Leyte; Balite Bay, Mati City sa Davao Oriental; Lianga at Bislig Bays, at coastal waters ng Hinatuan sa Surigao del Sur ay positibo sa PSP “that is beyond the regulatory limit.”

Gayundin naman ang coastal waters ng Daram Island, at Zumarraga, Cambatutay at Villareal Bays sa Western Samar; coastal waters ng Leyte, Carigara at Ormoc Bays, at Cancabato Bay, Tacloban City sa Leyte; coastal waters ng Biliran Islands; at Murcielagos Bay sa Zamboanga del Norte.

Ayon sa BFAR, hindi ligtas kainin ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish at acetes o alamang sa mga nasabing lugar.

Saad pa ng BFAR, “All types of shellfish and Acetes sp. or alamang gathered from the areas shown above are NOT SAFE for human consumption.

“Fish, squids, shrimps and crabs are safe for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking.”
