'Di na raw magkasundo sa kaso vs. Vhong… ATTY. TOPACIO, NAGBITIW NA BILANG ABOGADO NI DENIECE

Sa report ng ABS-CBN News, hindi na raw ipagpapatuloy ni Atty. Ferdinand Topacio ang pagiging abogado o tagapagtanggol ni Deniece Cornejo sa kasong rape na isinampa nito laban sa It's Showtime host na si Vhong Navarro.

Ayon sa news reporter na si Nikko Baua, base sa panayam kay Atty. Topacio, nagbitiw na raw ito bilang abogado ni Deniece.

Ayon sa panayam nito kay Topacio, "I wish to state that I am henceforth dissociating and distancing myself from the prosecution of Mr. Ferdinand "Vhong" Navarro in the rape case filed by Ms. Deniece Cornejo against him.

"I have represented Ms. Cornejo as her counsel of record in the case of serious illegal detention against her filed by Mr. Navarro all these years upon the request of her family especially Mr. Rod Cornejo, a friend of mine of long standing until bail was granted to Ms. Cornejo and her co-accused, as affirmed by the Court of Appeals. I have also coordinated with Atty. Karen Jimeno in the filing of rape charges against Mr. Navarro.

"Our group, the Citizen's Crime Watch, has also taken the cudgels for Ms. Cornejo after the Court of Appeals ordered the filing of rape charges against Mr. Navarro. I have done all these in the interest of attaining justice for Ms. Cornejo before the courts. There are certain people, however, who are trying to take the case in a direction which I do not wish to pursue as an advocate.

"With the fundamental difference in managing the case, I cannot in good confidence and ethics continue to be part of the proceedings.

"We shall however, continue to assist Ms. Cornejo in other cases she wishes to bring against those who have caused her damages through scurrilous libel as she has manifested to me earlier, if she still so wishes.

"And the Citizen's Crime Watch will still continue with its offer to assist the others who may have been victimized by Mr. Navarro, in accordance with our bounden duty to help all victims of crime.

"We wish Ms. Cornejo all the best in her continued quest to seek and secure justice. My justice prevail this time at long last," bahagi ng statement ni Atty. Topacio.

TIRSO, TUTOL SA MANDATORY DRUG TEST SA MGA ARTISTA

Tulad ni Sen. Robin Padilla na nagsabing hindi lang ang mga artista ang dapat isailalim sa mandatory drug test kundi maging ang mga nagtatrabaho sa gobyerno, hindi rin sumasang-ayon ang Film Development Council of the Philippines chairman na si Tirso Cruz III sa panukalang mandatory drug test sa mga kapwa niya artista.

Ani Pip (palayaw ni Tirso), ang nasabing drug testing ay "greatly discriminatory" sa mga taga-industriya.

Nagpalabas ng kanyang mensahe si Pip pagkatapos i-propose ni Cong. Barbers ng Surigao del Norte ang nasabing panukala.

Mensahe ni Chairman Tirso, "The fight against trafficking and use of illegal drugs should be everyone's concern as law abiding of the country. We find it greatly discriminatory however that actors and performers from the entertainment industry are being singled out for drug testing."

Dagdag pa niya, "Worse, there is a strong move making producers shoulder the extra cost for all performers' drug test. This is outright unfair and burdensome coming from a pandemic that left so many of us out of work, and getting back on track remains a huge challenge," sabi pa ng FDCP chair.

Ayon pa kay Pip, the industry needs all the support it could get and not oppressive policies, gaya ng nasabing panukala.

Dagdag pa raw ito sa mga 'di makabuluhang bayarin o gastos and paralyzing the industry even more.

Ang nasabing mandatory drug testing ay inihain ni Surigao del Sur Representative Barbers, ang head ng House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, matapos maaresto ang actor na si Dominic Roco noong nakaraang Sabado kasama ang apat pa sa isang buy-bust operation sa Quezon City.

Sey pa ni Barbers, "Hinihiling at hinihikayat ko ang hanay ng ating movie industry na tumulong sa kampanya laban sa droga sa pamamagitan ng pag-police ng kanilang ranks at i-subject ang kanilang mga talents sa drug test bago bigyan ng pelikula," sey ng lawmaker.

Tanggap na maraming bashers… VICE SA MGA GALIT SA KANYA: LOSERS!

Muling bumanat ang It's Showtime host na si Vice Ganda sa kanyang mga bashers sa social media. Sa nakaraang episode ng Everybody Sing, naikuwento ng isang contestant na lagi raw niyang ipinagtatanggol si Vice sa tuwing may namba-bash sa Unkabogable Star.

Himutok ni Vice, "Sa social media, laging bina-bash ako. Ako 'yung the most followed personality in social media pero ang dami ring namba-bash sa akin."

May kasabihan nga na you can't please everybody, kaya't iniintindi na lamang niya ang mga pumupuna sa kanya.

"Kahit ano pang sabihin ko, 'di naman naniniwala 'yan, 'di ba? Kasi nga, hater ko sila, mga basher ko sila (at) never ko silang mapapaniwala kahit ano pang explain ko. Never, kasi to begin with, you don't like me. So whatever I do, tama man o maganda 'yan, you will never like it," aniya sa mga bashers niya.

"Because you don't like me," dagdag pa niya.

Kaya no point daw para siya'y mag-explain pa.

"And you know, bashers and haters, all of them are losers. And I don't want to talk to losers," mariin pa niyang sambit.

Nagpapasalamat naman si Vice sa kanyang mga supporters na ipinagtatanggol siya gaya ng nasabing contestant sa ES.
