Inanunsiyo ng bandang IV of Spades magpapahinga ang kanilang banda upang ang tatllong miyembro nitong sina Badjao de Castro, Zild Benitez, at Blaster Silonga ay ma-“pursue” ang kanilang “personal interests.”

Anila sa Facebook post, “Hello. The three of us are still fine and alive. The band decided that we’ll be having a break from all the things that we’ve been doing together for the past few years.

“We will be busy pursuing some other personal interests and take a needed time off as a band.

There are no plans to release anything or perform for the time being. With that being said, there are more things out there that we should pay attention to and remember that living itself is a blessing.

“IV OF SPADES. Badjao. Blaster. Zild.”

Chinese online streaming, planong i-ban sa Taiwan

Pinaplano na ng Taiwan na i-ban ang mga kilalang streaming giant sa China tulad ng iQiyi at Tencent Holdings dahil umano sa politika.

Iaanunsiyo sa September 3 ang pormal na ordinansa rito kung saan nagbabawal sa

paggamit sa mga video streaming companies ayon sa Minsitry of Economic Affairs.

Dagdag pa nito, makatutulong din umano ito para mapatigil ang mga ilegal na agent at distributor sa bansa.

Ang iQiyi ay isang Netflix-like platform ng Chinese search giant na Baidu. Hindi umano

tinanggap ng awtoridad ang aplikasyon sa online streaming dahil wala ito sa listahan ng

may permit na maaring mag-operate sa Taiwan.

Ito umano ay lumabag sa Act Governing Relations between the people of Taiwan Area and Mainland Area, kung saan maaari lamang mag-invest ang mga Chinese companies kung ito ay nakasama sa goods at services.

Ngunit, nakapasok pa rin ito sa bansang Taiwan dahil sa local broadcaster at distributor

para maibenta at ma-promote ang video streaming. Kaya naman umabot sa 6 milyon ang subscribers mula sa Taiwan, ayon sa Taipei Times. Ito rin ay may partnership sa OTT

Entertainment para ma-promote at mabili ang service sa loob ng bansa.

Sinabi naman ni Cabinet spokeswoman Kolas Yotaka noong April na pinayagan ang Chinese online streaming service upang magkaroon ng alyansa sa local companies bilang “breach of democracy”.

Samantala, walang ibinhaging komento ang Tencent tungkol dito. Nagsalita naman ang

iQiyi representative tungkol sa post ng OTT Entertainment at tumangging magsalita

tungkol sa final legislation ngunit sinabi na ito ay “fully committed to protecting the rights and interests of its users”.

K-drama analysis, magiging parte na ng elective course ng UP Diliman

Magkakaroon na ng eletive course na K-drama analysis ang University of the Philippines Diliman ngayong summer.

Base sa computerized registration system ng naturang unibersidad, ang “Special Topics: Analysis of K-drama Series ay maaaring kunin ng UP Diliman's College of Mass Communication.

Ayon sa ulat, 20 lamang ang mga estudyanteng maaaring makapag-e-enroll sa naturang subject at ang mga ito ay nangangailangan ng internet connection, video conferencing apps katulad ng Google Meet, Messenger, Viber o Zoom, gadgets katulad ng desktop, laptop, tablet o cellphone, atbp.. kailangan din ang Netflix subscription o access K-drama series na "Crash Landing on You" (CLOY), "Chicago Typewriter" at "Misaeng."
