MTRCB Board Member Glenn Patricio, bagong era ng masiglang pamumuno

Hello, Bulgarians! Isa sa mga pinakabatang appointee ng Marcos administration ang bagong board member ng Movie, Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) na si Glenn Patricio na nanumpa sa tungkulin noong Hulyo 22, 2024 sa harap ni MTRCB Chairwoman Diorella Maria “Lala” Sotto-Antonio.

Nagmarka ito ng simula ng kanyang mahalagang papel sa pangangasiwa at pagpapahusay sa mga pamantayan ng film and television content sa Pilipinas. Bago ang kanyang appointment, na-enjoy niya ang matagumpay na business career, kung saan hinasa niya ang kanyang kasanayan sa pamamahala at pagpaplano.

Ang kanyang background bilang isang administrative consultant sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) ay nagbigay din sa kanya ng napakahalagang karanasan sa pag-navigate sa mga kumplikadong operasyon ng gobyerno at serbisyo-publiko.

Ang kanyang mga kaalaman na natutunan sa pribadong sektor at gobyerno ay magiging instrumento habang patuloy na umuunlad ang MTRCB sa mabilis na digital age.

Sa pagpapahayag ng kanyang pasasalamat at pangako, sinabi ni Patricio, “I am incredibly grateful for the trust and support they placed on me. It is a great privilege to be part of this team, and I am committed to contributing towards our shared goals of excellence of programming in TV and cinema, and the Philippine media as a whole.”

Sa kanyang pagsisimula sa bagong journey na ito, binibigyang-diin ni Patricio ang kahalagahan ng karunungan sa pamumuno sa pabanggit ng Proverbs 9:10: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”

Nilalayon niyang dalhin ang prinsipyong ito habang ginagampanan niya ang kanyang mga responsibilidad sa MTRCB.

Nangako si Patricio na mag-aambag siya sa pagpapasigla ng mga board’s policies upang gawing mas nauugnay ang mga ito sa mga kontemporaryong madla habang pinoprotektahan ang mga interes ng mga manonood.

Batanes LGU, member na sa KaSSSangga Collect Program ng SSS

Hello, Bulgarians! Ipinahayag ng Social Security System (SSS) na mahigit 2,000 job order (JO) na manggagawa ng Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) ng Batanes ang magkakaroon ng social security protection sa ilalim ng KaSSSangga Collect Program (KCP) matapos na maging pinakabagong implementer ng programa. 

Sina SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Rolando Ledesma Macasaet at Batanes Governor Marilou H. Cayco ay pumirma ng Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) na nagpapahintulot sa mga JO worker ng pamahalaang panlalawigan na makakuha ng social security coverage mula sa SSS sa ilalim ng KCP.

“This only shows SSS is committed to its mandate of expanding social security protection and services to all working Filipinos up to the last mile provinces in the Philippines like Batanes,” pahayag ni Macasaet.

Ipinaliwanag ni Macasaet na sa ilalim ng KCP, ang mga JO worker ng PLGU ay irerehistro bilang mga self-employed na miyembro ng SSS. Kasabay nito, ang PLGU Batanes ay magsisilbing SSS collecting partner, na kokolekta ng kontribusyon ng mga JO worker sa pamamagitan ng salary deduction scheme at ire-remit ang mga ito sa SSS.

“The timely remittance of monthly premiums will ensure that JO workers are qualified to avail of SSS benefits and loan privileges in times of emergencies,” sabi ni Macasaet.

Sinabi rin niya na ang mga JO worker, bilang self-employed na miyembro, ay maaaring makakuha ng mga benepisyo ng SSS gaya ng sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral. “Maaari rin silang mag-avail ng loan privileges tulad ng salary at calamity loan,” aniya pa.

Bilang karagdagan sa mga benepisyo ng SSS, sila ay may karapatan na makatanggap ng mga benepisyo ng Employees’ Compensation (EC) sakaling magkaroon ng work-connected sickness, injury, or death.

12th 'Unmodified Opinion' ng COA, natanggap ng Pag-IBIG Fund

Hello, Bulgarians! Nakatanggap ang Pag-IBIG Fund ng isa pang ‘Unmodified Opinion’ mula sa Commission on Audit (COA) para sa ika-12 magkakasunod na taon. Sa isang liham na may petsang 21 Hunyo 2024, ipinaalam ng mga state auditor sa ahensya na nagbigay ito ng unmodified opinion sa pagiging patas ng presentasyon ng mga financial statement ng Pag-IBIG Fund para sa 2023.

“This recognition from the COA, which Pag-IBIG Fund has earned for the 12th consecutive year, is a result of Pag-IBIG Fund’s commitment towards excellence and integrity in managing our members’ funds. We stay true to our mandate of providing secured savings and shelter financing in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. of providing means for Filipinos to achieve a better quality of life,” saad ni Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar, namumuno sa Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and Chairman at sa 11-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees.

Ang Pag-IBIG Fund ay tumanggap ng ‘unqualified opinion’ sa COA mula 2012 hanggang 2017 at ‘unmodified opinions’ mula 2018 hanggang 2023. Ang parehong unqualified and unmodified opinions ay nagpapahiwatig na ang financial statement ng isang ahensya o korporasyon ng gobyerno ay ipinakita sa lahat ng materyal na aspeto, alinsunod sa naaangkop na mga balangkas ng pag-uulat sa pananalapi.

“Pag-IBIG Fund achieved several milestones in 2023. Our financial standing remains strong, as we concluded 2023 with a record-high net income before MP2 returns of P49.79 billion. Pag-IBIG Fund also surpassed its housing records by releasing a total of P126.04 billion in housing loan takeouts, the highest home loans released during a single year in its 43-year history. This helped 96,848 members acquire new or better homes. Membership savings collection also reached a record high, with membership savings collections amounting to P89.26 billion. All these enabled Pag-IBIG Fund to declare P48.76 billion in dividends, which was distributed to its members as earnings on their savings for said year — highest in the history of Pag-IBIG Fund,” pahayag ni Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene C. Acosta.

“Earning the ‘unmodified opinion’ for the 12th consecutive year further signifies how we were able to achieve our best performance while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity. Our members and stakeholders can rest assured that we will remain their reliable partner and that we will continue to serve them with Tapat na Serbisyo, Mula sa Puso,” dagdag pa ni Acosta.
