Manila, Philippines — Primetime king Coco Martin and his whole squad star in Astron Appliances’ debut film, “Sa Kamay ng Ala Gang.”

In the film, Coco Martin is the leader of the Ala Gang, a group of men who abduct people and take them into their lair that is seated deep in Quiapo’s streets.

Taking cues from the wildly successful prime-time drama Batang Quiapo, the film illustrates how Astron Appliances takes caring for its customers seriously through Coco Martin and his gang’s actions.

In the film, they showed how the gang used various Astron products to feed the hostage, clean his clothes, make sure he was comfortable, and show him a good time overall. This is what customers can expect when they use Astron products, the appliances will take care of you instead of the other way around.

Maynilad service providers conduct sewer line cleaning along roads in Muntinlupa to help prevent blockages and ensure the smooth flow of wastewater to treatment facilities. In 2024, Maynilad cleaned 542.13 kilometers of sewer lines across its service area, surpassing its target and contributing to cleaner, healthier communities. Date of Release: February 24, 2025

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) cleaned 542.13 kilometers of sewer lines in 2024, exceeding its 500-kilometer target by 8.43% to enhance wastewater flow and contribute to cleaner, healthier communities.

Maynilad spent ₱21.7 million on sewer line cleaning in 2024, covering key areas in Manila, Quezon City, Muntinlupa, Makati, Pasay, and Parañaque. Using high-powered sewer jetting and vacuum truck units, Maynilad efficiently removed blockages caused by improper waste disposal, such as wet wipes, plastics, grease, and construction debris. These efforts help prevent sewer overflows and ensure wastewater flows smoothly to treatment facilities.

The company also worked closely with local government units and national agencies to resolve access challenges, such as sewer manholes buried by asphalt pavements or damaged during road and drainage projects. These collaborations ensured that cleaning operations proceeded without delays.

“These cleaning efforts are essential to ensuring that wastewater from households reaches our treatment plants, where it is treated to meet environmental standards before being safely discharged into bodies of water,” said Engr. Zmel Grabillo, Maynilad’s Head of the Wastewater Management Division.

Beyond its sewer line cleaning efforts, Maynilad also provides septic tank desludging services to households in non-sewered areas at no additional cost, reinforcing its commitment to comprehensive wastewater management across its service area.

Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) in the Philippines in terms of customer base. Its service area includes the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres and Sta. Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of Holy Spirit and Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas, and Malabon, all in Metro Manila; and the cities of Cavite, Bacoor, and Imus, and the municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario, all in the province of Cavite.
