IATF muling bubusisiin ang polisiya sa turismo

Pag-aaralan ulit ng Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 ang mas maikling quarantine period para sa mga papasok sa bansa.

Sa ginanap na plenary debate ng Senado para sa 2022 national budget, binusisi ni Senator Ralph Recto ang polisiya ng IATF.

"What is the policy with regard to the quarantine when you enter the Philippines? Let’s say the United States—and most of the people there are vaccinated—if you have a vaccine, PCR test, and you come to the Philippines, are you still required to quarantine?" ani Recto.

Ayon naman kqy Senator Sonny Angara, kung manggagaling sa bansang nasa green list, hindi na ito kailangang ma-quarantine.

"If you come from a country on the green list, you don’t have to be quarantined. If you are on the yellow country list, which includes the US, you quarantine for five days and if you test negative, you can go home. But if you test positive, you have to go to a facility-based quarantine," aniya.

Giit pa ni Recto, kailangang pag-aralan mabuti ang polisiya hinggil dito dahil malaki ang maitutulong nito para sa ekonomiya lalo kung magbukas na sa mga turista.

"So why not kung nabakunahan ka na sa Amerika at pupunta ka ng Pilipinas or OFW ka, is it required to quarantine pa rin?" ani Recto.

Suman-ayon si Angara sa suggestion ni Recto at sinabi na muling magpupulong ang IATF.

"Secretary Galvez has assured us that they’re going to discuss it and they’re going to merge the green and the yellow so that they could have less quarantine and attract more foreign tourists," aniya.

NCR mayors, hihilingin sa IATF na ‘wag nang gawing mandatory ang pagsusuot ng face shields – Abalos

Inanunsiyo ni MMDA Chair Benhur Abalos na hihilingin ng Metro Manila Council sa IATF na huwag nang gawing mandatory ang pagsuot ng face shield maliban na lamang sa mga critical areas.

Aniya, voluntary na lamang ito at "matter of personal choice” at mandatory na lamang kung nasa ospital, health centers, at public transportation.

“Napag-usapan namin sa face shield. Number 1, ito 'yung isasagot ko sa IATF na tanggalin na po ang face shields, hindi na gawing mandatory except for critical places,” ani Abalos sa isang panayam.

Ayon pa rito, susuportahan nila ang suhestiyon ni Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año tungkol sa non-mondatory wearing ng face shields.

Samantala, sa Maynila ay hindi na mandatory ang pagsusuot ng face shields matapos lagdaan ni Mayor Isko Moreno ang executive order hinggil dito.

Batay sa kautusan, ang pagsusuot ng face shields ay mananatili lamang mandatory sa hospital settings, medical clinics, at iba pang medical facilities.

“…The wearing of face shield in the City of Manila is non-mandatory except in hospital setting, medical clinics, and other medical facilities, which shall remain to be mandatory,” ani Moreno.

Deployment ng healthcare workers sa ibang bansa, stop muna — POEA

Pansamantalang ititigil ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ang pagpoproseso ng mga papeles ng mga nurses at iba pang mga healthcare workers na nagnanais na magtrabaho sa ibang bansa.

Ito ay dahil naabot na ang itinakdang deployment cap ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) o bilang ng mga health care workers na maaaring magtrabaho abroad.

Dahil dito ay hindi muna mag-i-issue ng Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) sa mga healthcare workers na nagbabalak na mag-abroad.

Matatandaang 6,500 lamang ang bilang ng mga healthcare workers na papayagang mangibang-bansa sa taong ito batay sa patakaran ng IATF.

“Pursuant to POEA Governing Board Resolution No. 17, Series of 2020 and POEA Advisory No. 79, Series of 2021 on the lifting of the moratorium or temporary suspension on the deployment of nurses, nursing aides and nursing assistants, and increasing the annual deployment cap from 5,000 to 6,500, the Administration hereby announces that the said ceiling has been reached as of date,” ani POEA head Bernard Olalia sa Advisory No. 144.

Magpapatuloy ang pagpapatupad sa nasabing suspensiyon hanggang wala pang panibagong inilalabas na anunsyo ang Inter-Agency Task Force.

Samantala, nilinaw naman ng POEA na papayagang makabiyahe ang mga nakakuha na at nakapagproseso na ng kanilang mga papeles bago pa man ilabas ng ahensiya ang nasabing kautusan.
