Idinagdag ang Esports sa listahan ng events na lalaruin sa 2023 Palarong Pambansa sa Marikina sa Hulyo 29. Tanging isang titulo, Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) ang itatampok sa inaugural Palaro esports tournament.

Ang mismong alkalde ng Marikina ang nagsagawa ng anunsiyo sa national meet's press launch sa Marikina Sports Center noong nakaraang Biyernes. Ang Esports ay magsisilbing demonstration sport.

"We chose the most accessible game for the Palaro. Most of the Filipinos right now use their mobile phones to actually play the game, so Mobile Legends muna ang ni-recommend namin sa board (so it is the first game we recommended to the board)," ayon kay Marlon Marcelo, ang executive director ng Philippine Esports Organization (PESO).

Ang PESO ang babalikat para tulungan ang Marikina City government, ang Department of Education, at ang Philippine Sports Commission sa pag-organisa ng Palaro MLBB event.

Idinagdag pa ni Marcelo na ang ibang esports titles, tulad ng Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) 2 at Valorant ay idadagdag sa event oras na ang esports ay maging opisyal nang bahagi ng Palaro, maaring sa susunod na torneo sa isang taon.

Nagbi-bid na ang Cebu City, Antique, at Negros Occidental para makuha ang hosting rights ng 2024 Palaro habang kinokonsidera ang kakayahan ng kanilang ekonomiya.


Ang capital city ng Cebu at Negros Occidental - ang Bacolod ay maaring magpagamit ng mas malaking venues ng esports event at marami pang titulo ang lalaruin.

Sa ngayon, ayon kay Marcelo, ang layunin ay mapagtagumpayan ang pagdaraos ng 2023 Palaro MLBB event. "Since this is a demo sport, we would want to make sure that everything is smooth as possible on the first try. Mas madali kasing i-organize yung MLBB, to be honest, just because Valorant and DOTA 2 require PCs (personal computers) and a very stable Internet connection, so it's really one of the optics na kailangang ayusin (that we have to fix)," aniya.

Asahan ang mas malawak at makabuluhang programa sa Esports mula sa grassroots hanggang sa elite level bilang National players tungo sa pagiging pro players sa tambalan ng dalawang kumpanya para tumatag ang oportunidad ng mga kabataan na iangat pa ang kakayahan.


Ikinasa ng Smart Communications, Inc. at Dark League Studios (DLS) sa tulong ng Philippine Esports Organization (PESO) ang programa para higit mapagsilbihan ang Pinoy gamers sa ginanap na media conference noong Miyerkules sa New World Hotel at palakasin pa ang Smart GIGA Arena, ang unang all-in-one na Esports platform ng bansa na nag-aalok ng karanasan sa torneo ng mga baguhan Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty Mobile, Player's Unknown Battleground, at League of Legends Wild Rift.


Ang partnership ay para sa mga tuntunin ng torneo at mas makabuluhang interaction ng mga gamers at maayos na lugar para sa baguhan at beteranong gamers.

Mula nang ilunsad ito noong 2022, ang Smart GIGA Arena ay nakapagho-host na ng mahigit 2 milyong user na nakalahok sa mahigit 1,000 tourneo na may kabuuang P4.2 milyon na papremyo.

Sisimulan ng AcadArena ang campus gaming sa pamamagitan ng AcadArena Spaces-co-branded na gagawing isang convertible student hubs para sa mga mag-aaral na lumalahok sa gaming, esports, o technical knowhow-na unang itatayo sa National University (NU) Laguna ngayong Abril.


Ang dream space ng AcadArena ay magiging fully-equipped sa mga high-end PCs at may student lounge para sa pag-aaral, paglalaro at iba pang events, na may modular design na akma sa pangangailangan ng estudyante.


Bukod sa computer laboratory sa academic institutions, may mga programa rin para sa mga estudyante ng AcadArena para maunawaan ang esports at gaming at maging fundamental part ng campus life at maibigay ang pinakamainam na kapaligiran sa guro at mag-aaral. "We've always treated campuses as our partners in esports- thus when developing Spaces we focus on balancing the specific needs of a campus with the wants of esports athletes and student gamers," ayon kay AcadArena Scholastic Partnerships Manager Atty. Maglalaan ang NU Laguna ng mixed-use Space upang mapalawak ang physical space ng programa. Isang classroom at learning center sa buong araw at play area at mobile lounge makaraan ang class hours.
