Isang hapunan ang inihanda ng first family sa Malacanang sa pangunguna ni Pangulong Ferdinand 'Bong Bong' Marcos bilang pagsalubong at pagpupugay sa mga Filipino Olympians na dumating kagabi ng alas-7:10 sa Villamor Airbase sa pangunguna ni double gold medalist Carlos Yulo na nilatagan ng red carpet.   

Pagkababa ng eroplano sakay ng PAL flight 658 mula sa layover sa Dubai mula sa Paris, dumiretso sila sa First Family ng Malacañang at doon ay sinalubong sila, binati at pinaghandaan ng isang  awarding ceremony at dinner reception. Tulad ng  sinabi ng Presidential Communications Office ginawaran ang medalist Olympians ng kani-kanilang cash incentives maging ang iba pang atletang lumahok sa Olympics. 

Sorpresa ring inanunsiyo ni PBBM ang halaga ng cash incentive sa welcome honors sa  Olympians.  

Bawat Olympian ay pinagkalooban ng Presidential Citation, habang si Yulo ay tumanggap ng Presidential Medal of Merit bilang mandato ng Office of the President at gantimpala sa medalists.

Ngayong araw naman ng Miyerkules, Agosto 14 ang heroes’ parade ng Filipino athletes na lumahok sa 2024 Paris Olympics ayon sa Office of the Presidential Protocol.

Ayon kay  Reichel Quiñones, Chief of Presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs, iyan ang iskedyul matapos ang pagdating kagabi nina two-time Olympic champion Carlos Yulo at iba pang Filipino Olympians sa bansa.  

Ang motorcade ayon kay Quiñones ay magsisimula sa Pasay. ''The following day [Wednesday], the athletes will be picked up from their [places of accommodation] and be brought to Aliw Theater where a motorcade will be held, from Aliw Theater to the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex,'' saad pa ni Quiñones. 

Ang 7.7-kilometer motorcade ay magsisimula sa Aliw Theater akaliwa sa Roxas Boulevard, kakanan sa P. Burgos at didiretso sa Finance Road. Pagdating sa Taft Avenue, kakanan sa Quirino Avenue patungo sa Adriatico Street at magtatapos sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Itinakda sa Miyerkules, Agosto 14 ang heroes' parade ng Filipino athletes na lumahok sa 2024 Paris Olympics ayon sa Office of the Presidential Protocol kahapon.

Ayon kay Reichel Quiñones, Chief of Presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs, darating si two-time Olympic champion Carlos Yulo at iba pang Filipino Olympians sa bansa ng 6 pm ngayong Martes.

Sasalubungin sila ng First Family ng Malacañang at matapos iyan ay isang awarding ceremony at dinner reception ang idaraos. Ayon sa Presidential Communications Office igagawad na rin sa Olympians ang kanilang cash incentives.

''The President will be announcing a cash incentive upon the welcome honors for the Olympians,''ayon kay Presidential Communications Office Assistant Secretary Dale de Vera sa isang Palace press briefing. Ang motorcade ayon kay Quiñones ay magsisimula sa Pasay.

Bacyadan, sumuko kay Chinese veteran Li sa Olympics

Nabigo rin si Hergie Bacyadan at natalo sa unanimous decision laban kay top-seeded Chinese Li Qian pero aniya wala siyang pinagsisihan sa kanyang kauna-unahang t Olympic campaign.

“I’m happy for this experience … that I was able to compete in the Olympics,” ayon sa 29-anyos na si Bacyadan. Si Bacyadan, 29, ay dating inferior boxer sa women’s 75-kg round of 16 bout laban kay 5-foot-11 Li na ginamit ang five-inch height advantage at karanasan ng 34-year-old na hawak ang silver at bronze medals mula sa Tokyo 2020 at Rio 2016.

“She’s very experienced,” ani Bacyadan, ang ikalawa sa limang Pinoy boxers na umeksit sa Olympics makaraang kinapos din si Eumir Felix Marcial kontra Uzbekistan. “I have the courage and I tried, but I lack the exposure,” aniya. “I was able to take her punches but she’s really an experienced fighter.”

Samantala, tuloy ang kampanya ng Pilipinas sa Paris Olympics sa kabila ng emosyonal na pagtatapos ng laban ni Eumir Felix Marcial, Martes ng gabi. “Full speed ahead,” ayon kay Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino kahapon. “The campaign for medals, especially gold, is hot on track.”

Isinalarawan ni Tolentino na ang naramdaman ni Marcial ay isang matinding dagok bagamat kargado ng sakripisyo at dedikasyon ang bronze medalist sa Tokyo 2020 bago magtungo ng Paris.

“I know how painful it is for Eumir to bear the loss,” saad ni Tolentino. “We feel his disappointment and frustration, but it’s not the end all for him.” Ang bronze ni Marcial sa Tokyo ay nasa middleweight na dibisyon na inalis ng Paris.
