Pagiging tapat ayon kay basketball association head Al Panlilio at surfing federation chief Dr. Jose Raul Canlas ang commitment nila para sa unang VP at treasurer sa ilalim ng ticket ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.

“I’m committed only to Philippine sports, to the Filipino athletes and to the leadership of Tolentino, who did a good job, and we are hoping to make it better or sustainable in the upcoming years,” ani Panlilio, pangulo ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas na siya rin ngayong POC first vice president.

“I am for Philippines sports and for the Filipino athletes,” ani Canlas. “ Tolentino has proven himself as an effective leader.” Isa pa muling 4 na taon na pamumuno bilang POC president ang pakay ni Bambol sa pilian ng liderato sa Nob. 29.

Naglatag naman si Baseball Association president Chito Loyzaga ng kandidatura para sa pagka-pangulo kabilang si Panlilio bilang first vice president at Canlas bilang treasurer.

Tinanggihan umano nina Panlilio at Canlas ang alok ng kampo ni Loyzaga at ikinagulat na makita ang kanilang pangalan sa dating PSC commissioner’s ticket.

“I’m so surprised to see my name on their list because when he [Loyzaga] called me, he just told me that they would only leave the first vice president blank and same thing with Doc Canlas’s treasurer position,” ani Panlilio.

“It is now confusing, we did not tell them to include our names in their ticket,” aniya. “They considered me to run as their first vice-president, that was their first offer,” ani Canlas.

“I’m honored and thankful for considering me also as their treasurer. But I declined their offer and told them that I will only stick to my original commitment to run under the leadership of Tolentino.”

Aussies Jana Milutinovic (kaliwa) at Stefanie Fejes beach volleyball - AVC

Muling magbabalik sina Stefanie Fejes at Jana Milutinovic ng Australia upang muling targetin ang isa pa muling titulo kung saan ang Alas Pilipinas ay sasabak sa sa 2024 Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships simula sa Nobyembre 5 sa Nuvali Sand Courts sa City of Santa Rosa.

Ang tambalang Aussies ang nagreyna sa Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Beach Tour Nuvali Open noong Abril at kumpirmado na ang paglahok kasama ang 19 na iba pang women's tandems sa anim na araw na event na itinaguyod ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).

Walo sa iba pang women's teams ang sasalang sa qualifying para sa nalalabing apat na slots sa main draw ayon kay PNVF and Asian Volleyball Confederation president Ramon “Tats” Suzara. Nakatakda ring magbalik sina Abbas Pourasgari at Alireza Aghajanighasab ng Iran na pakay na makabawi sa Nuvali Open at makikipagtunggali sa 20 pares sa men's main draw.

Sasabak para sa Pilipinas team sina Philippine Air Force duo Gen Eslapor at Kly Orillaneda, na naabot pa ang Round of 16 noong nakaraang summer. Sina Khylem Progella at Sofiah Pagara, teammates ng University of Santo Tomas ay nasa main draw rin ng torneo.

Ang ikatlong Philippine pair, Philippine Army’s Alexa Polidario at Coast Guard’s Jenny Gaviola ang susubok para sa qualifying tournament. Isinaayos din ng PNVF beach volleyball program ang men's side ng Alas Pilipinas nang kunin ang pares nina Southeast Asian Games veterans Ran Abdilla at James Buytrago.

Si Rancel Varga, na naka-silver medal ka-tandem si Buytrago sa FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures noong Abril, ay makakasama sa big stage si Lerry John Francisco. Pasok sina dating University of Perpetual Help star Ronniel Rosales at ex-National University stalwart Edwin Tolentino sa men’s qualifiers.

Naging tulay ang tatlong gintong medalya mula sa Olympics kasunod ang apat pang Asian Games gold medals—kasama na ang natatanging men’s basketball title—na binigyang-diin ni Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino sa loob ng 4 na taon niya bilang pangulo ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

Dagdag pa ang overall championship sa matagumpay na pag-host ng bansa sa 30th edition ng Southeast Asian Games noong 2019 kung saan nagwagi ang Pinoy athletes ng 149 gold, 117 silver at 121 bronze medals sa may 56 sports—higit sa 50 golds nang sumegunda sa Vietnam.

Sa administrasyon ng POC administration na pahirapan nang mahigitan lalo't may Carlos Yulo na naka-2 gymnastics gold medals sa Paris 2024 at bago iyan ay si weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo na unang naka-ginto sa Olympics noong Tokyo 2020.

“It’s about teamwork, it’s about setting and achieving goals, it’s about cooperation,” ani Tolentino na ayon sa kanyang video tinawag niyang “My Working Team” para sa muling halalan ng POC sa Nob. 29 sa East Ocean Palace Restaurant sa Paranaque City.

Tuwing apat na taon maghalal ng pamunuan sa POC kasabay ng Olympic cycle. Sa Nobyembre, ani Tolentino pinuno rin ng cycling federation mula 2008, pakay ding muling pamunuan ang pinakamataas na sports-governing body sa bansa kasama ang “Working Team” na sina Alfredo “Al” Panlilio (basketball) First Vice President, Rep. Richard Gomez (modern pentathlon) 2nd Vice President, Dr. Jose Raul Canlas (surfing) Treasurer at Donaldo “Don” Caringal (volleyball) bilang Auditor at Alexander “Ali” Sulit (judo), Ferdinand “Ferdie” Agustin (jiu-jitsu), Leonora “Len” Escolante (canoe-kayak) at Alvin Aguilar (wrestling) at Leah Jalandoni Gonzales (fencing) bilang miyembro ng Executive Board.
