Umapela ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Iloilo City sa Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) na ilagay sa general community quarantine (GCQ) ang kanilang lugar mula sa dating modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
Hiniling ng local government unit (LGU) sa IATF na isailalim ang siyudad sa GCQ na magsisimula bukas, September 28. Ayon kay Mayor Jerry Treñas, nagpadala na siya ng letter of request sa IATF, matapos na makipag-usap kina IATF chief, Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana at Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Usec. Epimaco Densing III, tungkol sa estado ng siyudad.
Kinonsulta na rin ng LGU ang COVID Team ng lungsod at kanilang business community, kung saan lumalabas na wala nang bagong kaso sa mga barangay na isinailalim sa lockdown. "Compliance officers will be deployed to affected barangays. A Quick Response Team will be on lookout to trace, test, isolate and decontaminate areas with Covid-19 cases," sabi ni Treñas.
Nauna rito, isinailalim ng IATF ang Iloilo City sa MECQ mula September 25 hanggang October 9, ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque. Gayunman, ayon kay Treñas, ang kawalan ng pag-iingat at kapabayaan ng mga kababayan kaya tumaas ang kaso ng mga tinatamaan ng COVID-19 sa lungsod, kamakailan. S
amantala, patuloy pa rin ang pagtanggap ng siyudad sa mga locally stranded individuals (LSIs) sa kondisyong nagnegatibo ang resulta ng mga ito sa reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-tatlong araw bago dumating sa Iloilo.
"We can accept flights of returning residents as long as their RT-PCR tests have been taken within 72 hours. Personnel will be assigned at the airport and seaport to check on their documents," sabi ni Treñas.
"We will then inform their barangays to monitor them. They can go home directly as no more quarantine in facility shall be required," dagdag ng alkalde. Gayundin, ang mga empleyado ng gobyerno ay may lingguhang RT-PCR testing para suriin sa COVID-19, ayon sa mayor.
"We also suggest, to do the same for fish port, and those with many employees such as BPOs, malls, supermarkets, banks, and all other businesses," ani Treñas.
Dagdag pa rito, ang mga lugar na tumataas ang bilang ng may Coronavirus ay isinasailalim agad sa lockdown at binigyan ng relief goods. Sa pinakahuling datos ng Iloilo City, mayroong 10 bagong kaso ng COVID-19 sa lungsod.
