Kinuwestiyon ni Senadora Grace Poe ang mga budget officials kung bakit mas malaki ang pondo ng mga flood control projects ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) kesa sa pondo ng Department of Health (DOH) para sa 2021.
Sa isinumite ng executive department na panukalang P4.5 trilyong national budget sa susunod na taon, P150 bilyon ang inilaan para sa flood control projects ng DPWH samantalang P131.22 bilyon lamang sa DOH.
Paliwanag naman ni Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado, sinubukan nilang magkaroon ng balanse sa pagitan ng prayoridad ng gobyerno pagdating sa budget alleocation.
“We are guided by the priorities of the government and for sure even as we go through the process of really allocating all of these funds, we did our best but even so we will always fall short because of the ambivalence of the environment,” ani Avisado.
Subalit iginiit ni Poe na bagama’t lehitimo ang mga proyekto, ilan umano sa mga ito ay kuwestiyonable.
