20,000 fraud cases, iniimbestigahan na — PhilHealth Pres. & CEO Ricardo Morales

Iniimbestigahan na diumano ang 20,000 fraudelent cases na kinasasangkutan ng Philippine Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) ayon sa president at CEO nito na si Ricardo Morales.

Aniya ay nag-hire na sila diumano ng mga investigators para sa pagreresolba ng naturang kaso.

Saad ni Morales, “We have 20,000 cases, 12,000 of them are in the regions. Ito ho ‘yung mga potential fraud so we have to look at every case.

“We might need to do a forensic audit to be able to find out where exactly this is because it doesn’t appear in the books…itong loss to fraud. It has to be a focused forensic audit [to determine] kung saan po napunta itong fraud na ito.”

Matatandaang sinabi ni Morales sa mga Senador na ang PhilHealth ay “potentially lost” P10.2 billion noong 2019 dahil sa diumano’y fraudulent transactions.

Aniya, “Healthcare is prone to fraud even in other societies because hindi natin mataanggal ‘yung face-to-face transaction nu’ng pasyente at saka ng physician. ‘Pag nagkasundo po ‘yung pasyente saka ‘yung physicaian, eh, lagot ho ‘yung healthcare insurance riyan.

“Kahit na sa mga advanced na bansa na akala natin ay nare-reduce nila ito, ay meron pa rin healthcare fraud.”
