Patay ang walong hinihinalang miyembro ng New People's Army (NPA) sa naganap na sagupaan sa pagitan ng mga awtoridad na tumagal nang mahigit 3 oras sa Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental nitong Martes, Marso 23.
Ayon kay Acting Commander Colonel Michael Samson ng 303rd Infantry Brigade, "I urge our soldiers to relentlessly pursue the NPAs who had been threatening our people in the countryside.”
Dagdag pa niya, “I also encourage the people to continue giving information on the presence of NPAs in their communities in order for us to prevent them from casting terroristic activities that could hamper the ongoing peace and development in the area."
Maliban sa katawan ng mga nasawi ay narekober din ang pagmamay-ari umano nilang 11 na malalakas na baril.
